Binders Made Into Tabletop Music Stands

During this past year, our fourth graders used three-ring binders to hold and display their music for Recorder Karate. We simply added Velcro to the top and bottom of the covers. Then we turned the binders wide open so the front and back covers are together. We used Velcro 5" strips to hold the binders open when we played recorders. I also made one film for the overhead projector. We added plastic sheet protectors to cover each page.

Talk about recycling! At summer rummage sales, you can get old binders for about a quarter.

I also suggested that kids keep an extra recorder at home, even if it's the one from Dollar Tree, because then they always have their own to use in music class.
